The United States Attorney serves as the chief federal law enforcement official in the entire Eastern District of Louisiana. The district itself is comprised of the thirteen parishes (of which the greater New Orleans area is the focal population and cultural center) occupying, in essence, the toe of the geographical boot which is the state.
